Ann Wicks is a service delivery leader with the Vancouver Robert Half Executive Search team. She works closely with managing directors and associates to develop research strategies and identify potential executive candidates for search projects across a broad range of industries and functions. She has extensive experience in the fields of recruiting, government, financial institutions and the not-for-profit sector.


Ann joined Robert Half in 2015 as a resource manager with the Management Resources division, responsible for matching project professionals and financial consultants with senior-level project and interim opportunities.

Before joining Robert Half, Ann served as managing director of British Columbia’s Board Resourcing and Development Office overseeing board governance and executive recruitment for over 300 provincial commissions and crown corporation boards of directors. As the director of statutory approvals/risk governance specialist for the Financial Institutions Commission, Ann oversaw corporate governance structures and regulatory affairs for British Columbia’s credit union, insurance and trust sectors. Previously, she was the senior policy advisor to the Senate Leader, specializing in public policy development, legislation, regulations, stakeholder engagement, Governor in Council appointments, and intergovernmental affairs. She also served as a policy advisor to the Minister of the Environment.

Personal and Professional Activities

Ann’s published work appears in the Canadian Parliamentary Review, Oxford University Press and CMA Magazine. In addition to holding a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Carleton University and has completed governance courses with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

Actively involved in the community, Ann has volunteered as a co-chairwoman on the United Way Campaign Cabinet, the Association of Women in Finance Board of Directors and the Nominations Committee for the YWCA Vancouver Women of Distinction Awards. She was also a board member with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society for three years.
